John 1:1 says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." I believe that starting with the Scriptures is the same as starting with God. If we read the Scriptures, we know God a lot more thoroughly (as in personally) then if we did not have a Bible at all.
The Bible is a revelation of God. If we start with God, it is like trying to learn how to do Math without a book or guide. Does this make sense?
Your question has the same answer as the first comment. If You meant which came first, then John 1:1 is the answer to them all. Is the Scriptures the Word of GOD?
